Jewelstone Concrete
Jewelstone is a polymer-modified concrete overlay. We apply it over existing steps, walkways, porches and driveways, texture it, and seal it. It bonds to the old concrete, so the slab underneath has to be structurally sound.
When an overlay makes sense
If the concrete is solid but the surface is cracked, pitted or worn, an overlay costs less than tearing it out and pouring new. If the steps are breaking apart underneath, we repair or rebuild them first. We check this at the free assessment and tell you which one you need.
How the job runs
Most Jewelstone jobs take one to three days. We bring colour samples to the assessment so you can choose against your brick and trim.
- Assessment. We check that the concrete is sound enough to take an overlay.
- Prep. Clean the surface, repair cracks and profile it so the overlay bonds.
- Overlay. Trowel on the Jewelstone and texture it in the colour you picked.
- Seal. Seal it against water, road salt and UV.

How long does Jewelstone last?
With proper prep and sealing, ten to fifteen years before it needs resealing.
Can it go over badly damaged steps?
Only if the concrete underneath is structurally sound. If the steps are crumbling, we repair or rebuild them first, then apply the overlay.
What colours and textures can I choose from?
There is a range of stone tones and textures. We bring samples to the assessment so you can see them next to your brick and trim.
